Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral and trade relations with African nations during bilateral meetings with heads of state from four countries, including three from Africa.
The talks focused on mutual benefits and investment opportunities in various sectors. The meetings were held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The five dignitaries praised Bangladesh’s remarkable development under Hasina’s leadership. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva assured Bangladesh of cooperation and invited the premier to visit Brazil.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed his desire to visit Bangladesh to witness its massive development. Mozambique’s President sought investment in pharmaceuticals, while the New Development Bank’s President Dilma Vana Rousseff expressed her organization’s willingness to assist Bangladesh, particularly in women empowerment projects.
The prime minister arrived in Johannesburg to attend the 15th BRICS Summit on August 22.
