The BNP Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has expressed concern that Bangladesh may be shunned by the diplomatic community as a result of the move to eliminate supplementary security procedures for ambassadors.
The United States, the United Kingdom, India, and Saudi Arabia are among the six nations that will have further security removed.
Mirza Fakhrul criticized the decision as dangerous and warned that it will strain relations between the two nations diplomatically.
He made this statement after attending a combined meeting of the party and its affiliate organizations held at its Nayapaltan central office on Tuesday.
“The decision will not yield anything pleasant, rather it will end up harming to the people of Bangladesh,” he said.
