Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) is the only university from Bangladesh to have made the rankings in the wide category of Engineering and Technology in the QS World University Ranking 2023 by subject. With a score of 64.4, Buet received a global ranking of 335 in the engineering and technology-wide area according to 2023 QS.
Under the broad area of Social Sciences & Management, Dhaka University (DU) is the only institution from Bangladesh to have achieved rankings status. In the global Social Sciences & Management broad category of the 2023 QS rankings, DU was positioned between positions 451 and 500.
There are a total of 54 disciplines represented in the 2023 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by subject. These topics have been divided into five major subject categories: social sciences and management, life sciences and medicine, engineering and technology, and arts and humanities.
For the other three major categories, no Bangladeshi university made the list. Nonetheless, a few other institutions, such as DU and Buet, did place in the subject-specific divisions.
Buet, DU, and North South University (NSU) were ranked in the 401-450, 551-600, and 651-680 brackets, respectively, in computer science and information systems.
Buet placed in the 301-350 range in Electrical and Electronics. In Petroleum Engineering, Buet placed between 51 and 100, while CUET placed between 101 and 150. Buet received a score in the 351-400 range in Mechanical Engineering.
Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) placed in the 301-350 range for Agriculture and Forestry. BRAC University and DU both received rankings in the 601-650 range for medical schools.
DU scored between 301-330 in accounting and finance. NSU placed in the 401-450 bracket in business and management studies, whereas DU placed in the 351-400 range. DU scored in the range of 401-450 in Economics and Econometrics.
