Bangladeshi girl Sanzida Islam Chhoya has been included in the list of the top 100 inspiring and influential women in the world of 2022, created by BBC.
She hails from Nandail, Mymensingh, and is a first-year student at Gurudayal Government College, Kishoreganj.
Chhoya has made it to the list in the Activism and Advocacy category. The BBC has made this list of 100 women worldwide in politics, education, culture, sports, activism and advocacy, health, and science.
The BBC released a report on the 100 women nominated on Tuesday (December 6).
It reads Bangladesh is one of the countries in the world with a high rate of child marriage. Chhoya was trying to change this situation. Her mother was married at a young age.
Chhoya was moved by the negative impact of child marriage in a school presentation. Then she made up her mind
to work on it. Whenever hearing of the incident of child marriage, Chhoya informs the police and her friends, teachers, and associates. They introduce themselves as members of the group “Ghasphoring” (Grasshopper).
