The Southeast region of Bangladesh, with a concentration on the Bandarban region, is receiving assistance from the European Union thanks to a release of €300,000.
Emergency cash assistance will be used to give the relief, primarily in the form of food and shelter. The World Food Program of the UN will be in charge of overseeing the money and coordinating activities with the Bangladesh Red Cross to guarantee complete coverage.
With 15,600 dwellings affected, the floods have had a significant negative impact on shelter, livestock, and food security.
This year, the EU has given Bangladesh more than €30 million in humanitarian help, including €350,000 for Cyclone Mocha and a WFP Anticipatory Action initiative.
