Barcelona Dominates Benfica 3-1 to Secure Champions League Quarterfinal Spot

Raphinha scored twice, and Lamine Yamal added a stunning strike as a dominant Barcelona defeated Benfica 3-1 in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday, progressing to the quarter-finals with a 4-1 aggregate win.

It was a standout performance for the 17-year-old Yamal, who was nearly impossible to stop as he surged down the right wing, creating most of Barcelona’s scoring opportunities.

The Spanish winger dazzled with a brilliant solo run, leaving two defenders on the ground before crossing for Raphinha to volley home the opening goal in the 11th minute.

Benfica responded with a Nicolas Otamendi header from a corner two minutes later, but Barcelona continued to apply pressure, with Yamal regaining the lead for the hosts in the 28th minute with a curling left-footed shot into the top-right corner of keeper Anatoliy Trubin’s goal.

Raphinha then extended Barcelona’s advantage with a goal on a swift counter-attack in the 42nd minute, taking the lead in the Champions League scoring charts this season with 11 goals.
