Prime Minister’s Energy Affairs Adviser Taufiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury said the policy is being prepared to license 20 to 30 lakh battery-powered autorickshaws.
He said this at an event organized by FERB, an organization of energy reporters at Bidyut Bhaban, on Thursday (March 30) morning.
At this time, Taufiq-e-Ilahi also said that the Prime Minister would announce this later. Taufiq said that battery-powered autorickshaws could not ply on the highway.
Regarding the electricity price increase, the energy adviser said that the price is increasing due to the Ukraine-Russia war. It is difficult to say whether this process will stop until the war stops. Taufiq-e-Ilahi also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had ordered the disconnection of electricity in public and private institutions not paying the dues.
Concerning oil and gas, Tawfiq-e-Ilahi said that if the price of oil and gas in the world market decreases, there will be adjustments in the country as well.
