Those who are interested in establishing digital banks are asked to submit applications to the central bank.
Applications will only be accepted online, according to a notice posted on the Bangladesh Bank website on Thursday.
To apply online, choose a different option on the Bangladesh Bank website. Those who are interested can go there and fill out the form.
Application fees must be given to Bangladesh Bank in the form of a Tk5 lakh non-refundable deposit.
According to the central bank, applications for digital banks should be submitted digitally rather than through the customary submission of paper documentation.
The board of the Bangladesh Bank previously approved the Digital Bank guidelines on June 14 while maintaining a Tk125 crore reserve for paid-up capital. The Banking Company Act of 1991 will be used to grant the Digital Bank’s license.
According to the approved directive, the payment service will be run by the Bangladesh Payment and Settlement System Regulations, 2014.
