According to a senior official with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Patna, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu on Friday had to make an emergency landing at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport because of mechanical difficulties.
The flight was carrying 77 people. The Hindu reports that all 77 people on board the aircraft are unharmed. The flight’s pilot, BBC 371, reported mechanical difficulties that forced a diversion to Patna.
According to the official, aircraft engineers are currently inspecting the plane. Once both the pilot and the engineers have given their approval, the aircraft will only be permitted to take off.
