To enable passengers to travel to the destinations the two airlines service, Biman is pursuing codeshare and interline agreements with Gulf Air and Japan Airlines.
For the first time, Biman is doing this, and the business intends to use Tokyo to extend its reach into Europe and the US.
Biman anticipates that both agreements will be finalized before September when it will begin offering direct flights to Narita (Tokyo).
Additionally, the airline intends to code-share with Air Canada in order to grow in North America.
A collaboration between two airlines called code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets to places they don’t currently travel to without investing in extra hardware, resources, or money.
This marks a historic occasion for Bangladesh’s aviation industry since it is the country’s first codeshare arrangement with a foreign carrier.
The interline agreement gives freedom in traveling across different destinations without making numerous reservations and enhances the inter-airline ticketing experience.
Travelers from nearby nations including Nepal, India, Kolkata, and Delhi are among those that Biman anticipates will visit.
