Tomorrow, the BNP has called for a nationwide hartal from dawn to nightfall in protest at “police action” against party leaders and activists in Dhaka’s Kakrail district.
The development was verified by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi to The Daily Star.
For over two hours, BNP members have been engaged in a fierce confrontation with police in the vicinity of the Nightingale intersection in the capital, turning the region into a battlefield.
The conflict occurred during a large-scale rally that the BNP was hosting at its Nayapaltan headquarters.
