The statement provided by him, “Our team of investigators has been established with the sole purpose of determining whether there are grounds to proceed with a criminal investigation under federal or provincial laws, based on our examination of the circumstances.”
He added that the incident that resulted in the fatalities would be investigated by the police.
Superintendent Osmond noted that on Saturday, people who were on board Titan’s primary support ship, the Polar Prince, were interviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry. On Saturday morning, the ship made its way back to St. John’s harbor while safety inspectors were on board asking questions.
Search teams made frantic attempts to find the Titan in the Atlantic Ocean with only 96 hours of life support left when communication was lost.
The submarine was unable to surface, and in its last communication with Polar Prince, it was located precisely above the Titanic wreckage.
Five major Titan debris pieces were found on Thursday, two miles below the ocean’s surface, by a deep-sea robotic sub.
The debris was discovered 1,600 feet from the Titanic’s bow, and Rear Admiral John Mauger of the US Coast Guard said it was compatible with a catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber.
The wreckage, which includes a landing frame and the tail cone, must now be raised 3,800 meters from the ocean floor to investigate the circumstances surrounding the sub’s terrible demise.
The challenge for investigators is to piece together the sequence of incidents that resulted in the disastrous OceanGate vessel’s breakdown.
According to reports, the vessel’s safety issues were neglected in several ways.
Rob McCallum asserted that OceanGate’s CEO disregarded his warning about jeopardizing passengers.
The deep-sea research specialist advised Rush to get the sub’s safety certificate before giving trips to paying passengers, but Rush disregarded his advice.

According to a tycoon who refused to purchase a ticket for the tragic Titan submarine, Stockton Rush allegedly touted that it was “safer than crossing the street.”
A YouTuber also uploaded unsettling footage from his time on the Titan, only days before the sub exploded, however, the journey was ultimately cut short owing to several failures.
