Kaus Mia, the owner of Hakimpuri Jorda and a tycoon of Jorda (processed tobacco leaves), has gone away.
For 26 years, he has been among Bangladesh’s highest taxpayers.
His age was ninety-four. Anowar Sadat, Kaus Mia’s grandson, stated that he passed away this morning, June 25, about one in the morning, while receiving treatment at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital.
For the tax year 2021–2022, Kaus Mia was named the best taxpayer in the “Senior Citizen” category. However, he had won awards for being the best taxpayer in the businessman category the previous few years.
Kaus Mia has 61 years of tax payment history. The first tax he paid was in 1958. He included an explanation for why he began filing taxes. He stated, “In the past, I used to keep money here and there,” at an NBR event in 2019. It was fraught with dangers and numerous issues. By the time I paid my first tax in 1958, I was officially ‘free’. I then began to keep all of my money in the bank. I maintained the accounts in order.”
Kaus Mia rose to the top of the East Pakistani taxpayer rankings earlier in 1967. Among the businessmen in the nation, he has continued to be one of the biggest taxes since 2008.
