French magazine L’Equipe has been awarding the country’s best players since 1946. Since 1975, the award for the best player in all the world’s sports, the “Champion of the World Champions,” has been added to this.
Superstar Lionel Messi has become the champion of the world champions this year. The last time a footballer won the award was 11 years ago–He was Messi. The 35-year-old superstar is again going to win the Champion of the World Champions award.
To win this year’s award, Messi beat tennis star Rafael Nadal, who won two Grand Slams in 2022. Nadal won the Australian Open and the French Open.
Messi won the award with 808 points, while Mbappe in second place had 381 points. On the other hand, tennis star Rafael Nadal has 285 points.
Among football players, Zinedine Zidane won the award in 1998, Romario in 1994, Diego Maradona in 1986, and Paolo Rossi in 1982.
