Chanchal Chowdhury will play the titular role in the Mrinal Sen biopic directed by Srijit Mukherji. Recently, his web series ‘Karagar,’ and film ‘Hawa’ have been appreciated by the audience in both West Bengal and Bangladesh. The shooting will soon start.
The film, however, will have more of Mrinal’s personal and directorial life. The Calcutta Trilogy, made by him between 1969 and 1973, will cover most of the films. The film will also feature Manami Ghosh and Samrat Chakraborty.
Srijit and Chanchal were seen together at the Kolkata Film Festival recently. Before that, Chanchal said that he was going to work with Srijit. Srijit then said, “You will know everything once the time comes.”
