Three Australian cricketers will replace Michael Clarke on commentary duties during India and Australia Test series in the sub-continent country. Clarke was removed from the panel after a fight with his girlfriend over cheating claims.
Senior cricket sources told The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald that Mark Waugh would accompany Matthew Hayden for the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi, reports crictoday.
Mitchell Johnson will be one of the commentators for the third and fourth games. Aaron Finch and Johnson will work as partners during the three-match ODI series after the five-day games.
A host of names were in the fray after the apex body of Indian cricket decided to keep Michael Clarke away, but due to the short notice and involvement of others in different projects forced many to say no to the job.
Ricky Ponting, Mike Hussey, Simon Katich, Brad Haddin, and Trevor Bayliss are all part of different franchises in the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, Clarke was approached by Pakistan Super League. He has been a part of the panel of commentators for the ICC World Cups, the next edition of which will be the 2023 ODI World Cup in India.
