In 2022, a total of 532 students committed suicide in the country. Among them were 340 students of the school and equivalent levels. 106 students were of college and equivalent levels, and 86 were of university levels.
Among them, 320 were female students and 212 male students. Female students were at the top of the suicide rate. An average of 37 students committed suicide every month.
On Friday, Aachol Foundation published a survey report titled ‘Suicide tendency of school and college students: which way is the solution?’ These data were found in the survey.
According to the survey data, students between the ages of 13 and 19 committed suicide more. Among them, 65.93 percent are male, and 34.07 percent are female.
Experts say that students face unfavorable environments to cope with the physical and mental changes during puberty, so the suicide rate is high at this age.
