In September, Bangladesh will host the first-ever Commonwealth Trade and Investment Forum, which aims to encourage collaboration, innovation, and possibilities for sustainable and inclusive economic development among the Commonwealth nations.

The two-day forum will be held on September 13–14 and is being put on by the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) in collaboration with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the ZI Foundation.

The forum is anticipated to draw between 400 and 500 delegates from Commonwealth member states, including heads of state, politicians, and business executives.

Lokman Hossain Mia, executive chairman of BIDA, emphasized the importance of the Commonwealth’s vast network, which includes 56 member nations and a population of 2.5 billion people, or one-third of the world’s population.

The Commonwealth must address the vulnerabilities of the least developed nations (LDCs), landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), small island developing states (SIDS), and countries with specific requirements, according to State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.
