Sukirtharani, a Dalit poet and storyteller, officially called for a boycott of the Adani company. Tamil Nadu’s finest literary honor went to poet Sukirtharani.
However, the poet did not show up on stage on Thursday to accept the award, reports various Indian media.
She said she was unable to accept the accolade and mentioned the Adani Group being the award’s primary sponsor as the justification for her refusal.
