Up to 8:00 a.m. on Monday, ten additional persons died from dengue in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,096.
In the first nine days of the current month, a frightening 107 deaths have been reported.
In addition, the health directorate (DGHS) reports that 2,660 people in total were hospitalized during the time with the viral fever spread by mosquitoes.
Six of the new fatalities have been linked to Dhaka, with the remaining four occurring elsewhere.
Dengue fever has thus far led to the hospitalization of a total of 226,224 persons this year.
