In September, Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister, will officially launch a train service between Dhaka and Bhanga, according to Saturday’s announcement by railway minister Nurul Islam Sujan.
On Saturday, June 10, at the Bamankanda railway junction in Faridpur, the minister made the revelation while cutting the ribbon on an 87-kilometer portion of the Bhanga-Jessore route.
The project’s work will be finished in June of the following year, he said, creating a direct train connection between Jessore and Dhaka.
The minister expressed confidence that rail service on the route would start soon after mentioning that a 102 km railway line is being built from Chattogram’s Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar.
The minister also emphasized the bold objectives Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina set for herself when she was elected to her second consecutive term in 2009, which included a deliberate plan to extend railways to all 64 districts.
