The Election Commission has confirmed that no data breach from its servers exposed the personal information of more than five crore Bangladeshi individuals.
171 firms offer services using information from the Commission, according to AKM Humayun Kabir, director general of the National Identity Card Registration Division.
The contract will be canceled if evidence is discovered. A group made up of ICT professionals will be formed to look into the situation.
Full names, phone numbers, email addresses, and National Identification (NID) numbers were among the sensitive data exposed.
The data leak was linked to the website’s vulnerability, said the state minister for information and communication technology, Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
