Elon Musk, head of the US Department of Government Efficiency and owner of satellite internet provider Starlink, announced yesterday that he is eager to bring Starlink to Bangladesh.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh’s chief adviser’s X account shared: “Had a great meeting with Mr. @elonmusk. We agreed to work together and hope to launch Starlink in Bangladesh soon.”
Musk responded shortly after, stating, “Looking forward to it!”
On Thursday, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing released a statement confirming that Prof. Muhammad Yunus had an in-depth discussion with Musk about potential collaboration and advancing efforts to introduce Starlink in Bangladesh.
The statement highlighted that their discussion focused on the transformative potential of Starlink’s satellite communications, especially for Bangladesh’s entrepreneurial youth, rural and underprivileged women, and remote communities.
Additionally, Yunus extended an invitation to Musk to visit Bangladesh for the prospective launch, to which Musk responded positively.
