The Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, a massive project of the State Corporation Rosatom, will improve Bangladesh’s energy security, according to Aleksandr Mantytsky, the Russian ambassador to Bangladesh.
“Energy cooperation has always been the backbone of our economic relations. Gazprom company has successfully drilled 20 gas wells in the south of your country.”
On Sunday night, he was giving a speech at a reception honoring Russian Day, where the primary guest was Agriculture Minister Dr. Mohammad Abdur Razzaque.
The envoy emphasized the value of connections between Bangladesh and Russia while recalling Russia’s contribution to the Liberation War.
The volume of bilateral trade between Russia and Bangladesh in 2021 nearly broke the $3 billion mark.
The ambassador stated that their governments and business communities are quickly adjusting to the new reality and ready to deepen trade connections to reach new heights despite “artificial external obstacles and counterproductive sanction policy” implemented by the Western states.
The envoy stated that there are no significant political differences between Moscow and Dhaka.
They also strongly support multilateralism and non-alignment in international affairs and make every effort to combat terrorism, extremism, cybercrime, xenophobia, neo-colonialism, and climate change.
