The European Union (EU) delegation in Bangladesh signed two 20 million euros grant contracts under PROTTASHA II – Sustainable Reintegration of Bangladeshi Returnees and improved migration governance.
The signing ceremony marks a significant milestone in the EU’s collaboration with the Bangladeshi government in migration governance and support for returnees, in partnership with IOM and BRAC.
Special guests Dr. Ahmed Munirus Saleheen and Muhammad Shafiul Azam highlighted the importance of constant EU assistance to Bangladesh, particularly in promoting safe migration.
The EU and IOM are committed to ensuring safe, orderly, and well-managed migration in Bangladesh. The Prottasha II project builds on the flagship reintegration initiatives implemented through the Prottasha I project and furthers the EU and IOM’s pioneering approach towards sustainable reintegration.
BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh emphasized the importance of safe migration and sustainable reintegration in improving people’s lives and supporting Bangladesh’s economic growth.
