All imported and domestically produced Android mobile phones must use the Bijoy Android Package Kit, according to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
Smartphones without the Bijoy keyboard cannot be marketed, according to the telecom authority. The relevant stakeholders, including the president of the Bangladesh Mobile Phone Importers Association, received the directive on Friday.
The Bijoy keyboard must be used with all smart mobile phones, per government directives. It stated that before going on sale, all domestically and imported made smartphones must install the Bijoy android APK file provided by BTRC.
If not, there won’t be a no objection given for promoting any smartphone. The directive will take effect as of the letter’s date of issuance.
The letter further specified that the spectrum department would give away the Bijoy Android APK file without charge three working days after it was issued.
