BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the member of the party’s Standing Committee Mirza Abbas have been arrested, said the Intelligence Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
DB Chief told the media that they were arrested in a case in connection with the attack on the police at Nayapaltan.
”BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the party’s standing committee member Mirza Abbas were arrested after interrogation at the DB office by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. They were arrested on charges of planning and instigating an attack on the police in Nayapaltan last Wednesday,” said the DB chief.
DB chief said that they would be produced before court today.
