On Monday, at Bulanpur in Chapainawabganj, the first floating solar power plant in the country was connected to the national grid. 2.30 Megawatts can be produced by the power plant.
The same reservoir can be used for both fish farming and electricity production, according to a Facebook post by the state minister for power, energy, and natural resources Nasrul Hamid. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the undertaking.
In the coming months, the authorities will constantly monitor the growth of fish in that reservoir, according to the state minister. If the environment of the reservoir is not impacted by the power-producing facility, the relevant authorities will take steps to increase energy production in other reservoirs across the nation.
According to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), the nation produced a record 15,604 Megawatts of energy on April 17. Official data from BPDB revealed that on Monday evening, when demand was 14,203 Megawatts and supply was 13,617 Megawatts, the organization was forced to load-shed 586 Megawatts.
