Frattesi’s Extra-Time Winner Sends Inter Milan Past Barcelona to Champions League Final

Inter Milan substitute Davide Frattesi scored an extra-time winner to propel his team into the Champions League final, securing a thrilling 4-3 victory over Barcelona on Tuesday. The win came after Francesco Acerbi had earlier rescued Inter with a stunning equalizer deep into added time, keeping their hopes alive.

Frattesi’s goal clinched a dramatic 7-6 aggregate victory in a semi-final that will be remembered for its intensity. Inter now advances to the Munich final, where they will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal later this month.

The match unfolded in two contrasting halves. Inter dominated the first half, taking a two-goal lead thanks to Lautaro Martinez’s counter-attacking strike in the 21st minute and a penalty from Hakan Calhanoglu just before halftime.

However, Barcelona responded strongly in the second half, with Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo scoring within six minutes to level the match. Despite a series of crucial saves by Inter’s goalkeeper Yann Sommer, the Catalans thought they had sealed victory when Raphinha scored in the 87th minute.

But in the dying moments, Inter launched a desperate attack, and Denzel Dumfries crossed to Acerbi, who fired home a first-time shot to equalize, marking his first European goal in his 20th season. The game was then taken to extra time.

In the 99th minute, Marcus Thuram’s brilliant run and assist allowed Frattesi to calmly curl a shot into the bottom corner, securing the win and sending the home fans into raptures.
