A two-month-old boy was killed and his mother was injured in an overnight Russian attack on a village in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine, the regional governor announced on Tuesday.
On the messaging app Telegram, Oleh Synehubov reported that the body of the baby boy had been found under the debris of a three-story hotel that had been struck by missiles fired by Russian forces at around 2:30 in the morning.
Synehubov said that two more women suffered shrapnel wounds and were transported to a hospital. A cafe, shops, private residences, and private vehicles were among the over thirty buildings that the National Police reported had damage from the attack.
Independent confirmation of the reports was not possible for Reuters. Russia did not respond right away.
