Imran Ahmad, the minister of expatriates’ welfare, proposed a proposal to build a comprehensive database for the benefit of returning migrants.
The “Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (Raise: Reintegration of Returnee Migrants)” project will benefit about 2,000 returning migrants.
The minister emphasized the value of maintaining data integrity and exhorted employees to take appropriate data protection procedures.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM), NGOs, and WEWB will all work together to carry out the initiative.
Although an extension has been requested from the relevant government agency, the project is anticipated to end in June 2024.
