With daily hikes of Tk 120–150 and Tk 300–330, green chili prices reached an all-time high of Tk 450 per kg.
The Ministry of Agriculture permitted private importers to bring in 11,600 tonnes of chilies and 56,000 tonnes of tomatoes, resulting in an additional price increase of Tk 30 per kg.
In areas like Pabna, Kushtia, Rajshahi, Faridpur, Rajbari, Naogaon, Panchagarh, Dinajpur, and Nilphamari, local output has decreased.
The present retail price is at an all-time high and the farmer-level price is at Tk 270–290 per kg.
Between farms and city retailers, there is still a sizable pricing difference.
