A short circuit within the building’s elevator might cause the fire in a residential building in Gulshan, which resulted in at least one fatality and numerous injuries last night.
Fire service personnel are largely assuming that a short circuit started the fire, which swiftly spread due to the plywood decor inside the elevator.
Much of the 13-story building’s interior design was made of the same material, which may have contributed to how quickly the fire spread, according to the fire service. Further information will become available as the fire service is still looking into the incident.
The building’s top seven storeys were destroyed by the fire, which started yesterday evening at about 7:00. 11 ladies, a child, and ten other people were saved from the building.
The fire was put out around 11:00 pm Friday following four hours of work by the firefighters, assisted by the army and air force personnel.
