Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council leaders and members were allegedly attacked by Jubo League and Chhatra League men in Cumilla city.
The attack occurred during a procession protesting Bahauddin’s “disrespectful” remarks about Durga Puja.
The council organized rallies to protest Munshiganj Mayor Faisal Biplab’s remarks, Bahauddin’s remarks, poet Radhapada Roy’s attack, and temple vandalism.
Police have barred the two groups from getting close and will take legal action against those involved.
