Since the new crescent moon was not visible in Bangladesh’s night sky Thursday evening, the holy month of Ramadan will start on Friday.
As per an announcement from the ministry on Wednesday, the National Moon Sighting Committee decided at a meeting held at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office with State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan presiding.
All government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous organizations must be in the office from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm throughout Ramadan.
Throughout the month, these offices will be open from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a break for Zohr prayers from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm. Taraweeh prayers will start the night of tomorrow. On the night of April 18, Shab-e-Qadr will be observed.
