Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and ten other people, including her former defence advisor, Maj. Gen. (retd.) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed, are the targets of an arrest warrant issued by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
The warrant relates to two cases involving enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
The prosecution filed two petitions to have these 11 people arrested, and the tribunal, which was presided over by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumdar, issued the orders.
The tribunal instructed the authorities to detain and bring Sheikh Hasina and the other individuals before it before February 12 at the latest.
