Three Bangladeshi cricketers have got a chance in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das got places in Kolkata Knight Riders, while ‘cutter master’ Mustafizur Rahman was retained by Delhi Capitals.
The upcoming season of this world’s most popular franchise league will start in mid-March and continue until May 28. Due to Bangladesh’s international engagement at this time, there is concern about them playing in IPL.
Ireland cricket team will come to Bangladesh in March. The Irish will play one Test, three ODIs and T20Is against the Tigers. Then the Bangladesh team will go to Ireland to play three ODIs and four T20Is at the end of April.
BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon said at the Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club ground on Monday that the cricketers will not get leave if the national team has matches.
“The more cricketers go to the IPL, the happier we are. But no one will be left out when there is a game in Bangladesh. If there is a national team game, none of them can play. We have already informed the IPL authorities. They took these cricketers knowingly. Otherwise, there was a possibility of getting more cricket teams,” said Papon.
