Due to the government raising the cost of urea, DAP, TSP, and MOP fertilizers, dealers and farmers will now pay an extra Tk 5 per kg for fertilizers.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Agriculture’s deputy chief for fertilizer management and monitoring, Sheikh Badiul Alam, issued a directive in this regard.
The directive stated that due to the increase in fertilizer costs on the international market, “the sale price of fertilizer has been changed to retain the import of fertilizer at a reasonable level and ensure its best utilization.”
Urea fertilizer will now cost Tk 25 per kg, DAP Tk 19, TSP Tk 25, and MOP Tk 18 per kg to be purchased. Urea would cost Tk 27 per kg, DAP Tk 21, TSP Tk 27, and MOP Tk 20 per kg to farmers. The order took effect yesterday, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
