Invest in Bangladesh, PM Urges Indian Business Leaders

Today, Bangladesh’s prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, extended an invitation to Indian businessmen to invest, saying that her priority is her neighboring nations. 

She remarked, “You come to Bangladesh and make investment,” in response to a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) team that paid her a visit today evening in New Delhi. 

In an interview with the media, the prime minister’s adviser on private industry and investment affairs, Salman F. Rahman, stated that she reaffirmed her belief in “neighborhood first” and that she gives priority to Bangladesh’s neighbors when it comes to trade, business, and investment. 

Hasina emphasized that Indian businesspeople can make investments in Bangladesh’s 100 special economic zones, which are being developed.

Salman stated that the CII delegation informed Hasina of their want to engage with the FBCCI in a number of Bangladeshi industries, including logistics, IT, and agriculture. 

According to him, businesspeople from Bangladesh brought up the subject of non-tariff barriers and instructed the CII delegation to speak with the Indian government about it. 

Mahbubul Alam, the president of the FBCCI, Abdul Matlub Ahmad, the chairman of the Nitol Niloy Group, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, the chairman of the Pran-RFL Group, and a few more businessmen from Bangladesh were present at the meeting.

In addition, Adani Power Limited’s CEO (Energy) and Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, CEO of Dabur India Limited Mohit Malhotra, Executive Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited Shobana Kamineni, and Director General of CII Chandrajit Banerjee Among those in attendance was Deepak Amitabh, COO and Executive Director of Saankhya Labs Vishwakumara Kayargadde.
