Iraq on Saturday warned of “disastrous consequences” for the nation and beyond and denounced retaliatory US strikes against armed groups supporting Iran on its territory as a “violation of Iraqi sovereignty.”
General Yehia Rasool, a spokesman for Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani, said in a statement that Friday’s strikes in western Iraq close to the Syrian border are a “violation of Iraqi sovereignty” and will have “disastrous consequences for the security and stability of Iraq and the region.”
