ISPR Calls Anandabazar Report ‘Misleading and Baseless

A news report from the Indian publication Anandabazar has drawn criticism from the Inter-Services Public Relations, or ISPR.

An article that claimed the Pakistani military would be returning to Bangladesh was false and unfounded, according to a press release issued by ISPR on Saturday.

“As part of its regular activities, the Bangladesh Army maintains friendly relations with the armed forces of different countries and conducts various cooperative programs, including student exchange and training, to enhance mutual understanding and efficiency,” the protest letter stated, reaffirming the army’s commitment to professionalism, impartiality, and international cooperation.

It stated that the claim was untrue and that there is no intention for any Pakistan Army delegation or training team to visit any Bangladeshi cantonment for training.

Depending on its needs, the Bangladesh Army imports the necessary ammunition from other nations. The ISPR stated that ignorant viewpoints on delicate defense matters are offensive, unwanted, and uncalled for.

Anandabazar’s failure to obtain a response or explanation from the Bangladeshi ISPR prior to releasing its report, in violation of standard journalistic procedures, raises serious concerns regarding the report’s objectivity and credibility, the statement said.

Before releasing any reports, the ISPR asked the media to confirm information from trustworthy sources.
