At least 10 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The Israeli military stated that the strike targeted armed militants.
The attack took place in the northern West Bank, near Tubas, as confirmed by the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Violence in the region has intensified since the outbreak of the Gaza war. Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed, including armed militants, stone-throwing youths, and uninvolved civilians. Additionally, thousands have been detained by Israeli forces.
Meanwhile, Palestinian attacks in both the West Bank and Israel have resulted in the deaths of dozens of Israelis.
The West Bank, a landmass approximately 100 km (62 miles) long, was captured by Israel during the 1967 Middle East war. Palestinians consider it, along with Gaza, the foundation of a future independent state.
Following the Gaza ceasefire that took effect on January 19, Israel has increased its military operations in the West Bank.
