At least ten Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike early on Thursday in a tent camp in the southern Gaza Strip that was housing displaced families, according to medical officials.
The medics said the ten individuals, including women and children, were killed in a tent in Al-Mawasi, which is a humanitarian area in western Khan Younis.
The medics also reported that 15 people sustained injuries. The Israeli military did not respond right away.
Health officials in the Hamas-run enclave say Israel has killed over 45,500 Palestinians in the war in Gaza. Much of Gaza’s small coastal strip is in ruins, and the majority of its 2.3 million residents have been forced to flee their homes.
According to Israeli estimates, Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel killed 1,200 people and took another 251 hostage to Gaza, sparking the war.
