Israeli aircraft struck the Syrian capital of Damascus early on Tuesday, killing three civilians and injuring nine others, according to Syrian state media, which cited a military source.
Prior to this, a presenter on Syrian state television claimed to have died in an Israeli strike on Damascus. It was unclear which presenter was among the three civilians named by state media, it was unclear which presenter was one of them.
Additionally, state media reported that the Israeli airstrike seriously damaged private property.
As a result of explosions heard in the capital earlier on Tuesday, Syrian air defenses intercepted “hostile targets” over the vicinity of Damascus three times in a single night.
Regarding the alleged assault, the Israeli military stated that it does not provide comments on stories published by foreign media.
Since the Palestinian organization Hamas attacked Israeli territory on October 7 of last year, Israel has been conducting more frequent raids into Syria to target targets with ties to Iran.
