El-Sisi, the president of Egypt, and King Abdullah of Jordan reiterated on Thursday their shared opposition to the collective punishment policy, which includes starvation, siege, and forced relocation of Gaza residents, according to official media Petra.
During their discussions in Cairo, the two leaders reaffirmed the demand to immediately end the war on Gaza, protect civilians, ease the siege, and provide humanitarian help to the local population. They also rejected any attempt to forcibly relocate Gazans into Jordan or Egypt.
It also threatened to bring about a catastrophe for the entire region if the battle continued unabated and got worse.
Reiterating their condemnation of this horrific act against defenseless and innocent civilians, both leaders stated that the Baptist Hospital explosion in Gaza constituted a risky escalation, according to Petra.
Along with the two countries’ unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Petra said that the discussions also addressed the need for the Palestinian people to realize their legal rights through the two-state solution, which guarantees the creation of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
Since 1979, when Egypt and Jordan established diplomatic ties with Israel, they have played a pivotal role as intermediaries between officials from Israel and Palestine.
