The police recovered the hanging body of a journalist named Shabnam Sharmin (28) from a house in Moghbazar of the capital. The body was recovered on Tuesday (December 27) night. Shabnam Sharmin was working for online media The Report Live. Her village home is in Jhenaidah Sadar.
“We got the information at 5:30 pm and broke the door of a room on the fifth floor of house number 308 of Bara Moghbazar and recovered the hanging body of the woman. Later, after the legal process, the body was sent to the morgue of DMC Hospital for post-mortem. She seems to have committed suicide four to five days ago. Neighbors informed the police when they smelled the stench. The body is decomposed,” said the police.
The police also said, “It was initially known that Sharmin rented the house with her husband, Saidul Islam, last March. Her husband Saidul is absconding in this incident. The exact cause of death will be known after receiving the post-mortem report.”
