In the Rangpur City Corporation election, the candidate of the Jatiya Party of the plow symbol, Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, won by defeating his rivals by a huge margin. According to unofficial results, he got 1 lakh 46 thousand 789 votes in 229 centers.
The returning officer declared Abdul Baten Mustafa the winner. Earlier in the evening, the announcement of the voting results started at the District Art Academy.
This candidate of the plow symbol was ahead in all the centers since the beginning of this day.
Mustafa’s rival in the election, Islami Andolan Bangladesh candidate Amiruzzaman Piyal, got 49 thousand 492 votes with the hand fan symbol. Latifur Rahman Milon got 33 thousand 443 votes with the elephant symbol. And AL candidate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia got 22 thousand 309 votes.
