FC Barcelona has secured the future of its teenage prodigy, Lamine Yamal, by extending his contract until June 30, 2031. The 17-year-old forward, whose previous deal was set to expire in 2026, has been a pivotal figure in the club’s recent successes. In the 2024–25 season, Yamal contributed 18 goals and 25 assists across 55 matches, playing a crucial role in Barcelona’s domestic treble, which included winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España.
The new contract positions Yamal among the club’s highest earners, with a base salary of $17 million per season, which can potentially increase to $23 million through performance-related bonuses. Additionally, the contract includes a release clause of €1 billion, underscoring Barcelona’s commitment to retaining their young star.
Yamal’s extension is seen as a strategic move by Barcelona to build their future around one of the brightest talents in world football. His performances have garnered international acclaim, and he is considered a strong contender for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The contract was officially signed on Tuesday at the club’s offices, with FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, first vice president Rafa Yusta, and sporting director Deco in attendance.
