Rahmat Ullah, a film producer, has sued Shakib Khan for defamation. The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), a specialized division of the police, was ordered by the tribunal to look into the issue and deliver a report.
Nazmul Hossain, a court clerk, confirmed the information to the media on Tuesday. He claims that on April 13, Rahmat Ullah filed this lawsuit in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rashidul Alam.
Shakib Khan had previously received a legal warning from Rahmat Ullah’s attorney for making offensive remarks about him to the media.
Rahmat Ullah claimed in a letter dated March 15 to the head of the Bangladesh Film Artists’ Association that Shakib Khan had raped a co-producer while filming in Australia and had acted unethically and unprofessionally.
Shakib, following this incident, filed a written grievance at the DB office on Minto Road on March 19.
On March 23, Shakib also filed a lawsuit against movie producer Rahmat Ullah in a Dhaka court, accusing him of demanding a sum of 1,00,000 Australian dollars as extortion.
Then, Shakib Khan brought a new lawsuit under the Digital Security Act in the Dhaka Tribunal against Rahmat Ullah. The Police Bureau of Investigation was ordered by the court to provide an investigation report in this regard.
