This year, with 600 tonnes of fruit already sent, Bangladesh’s mango export revenue has increased. The season’s first mango exports were formally launched on May 25 by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).
In addition to providing export-ready plant health certificates, the DAE wants to teach 8,400 farmers about mango production technologies. Consumers in Europe and the Middle East have a high demand for summer fruit.
After expanding at a compound yearly growth rate of 6.4 percent from 2016, the size of the worldwide mango market reached $57.33 billion in 2021.
Global mango market size is anticipated to increase from $57.33 billion in 2021 to $77.94 billion in 2026 at a pace of 6.3 percent, with Bangladesh ranking tenth in the world for mango output.
According to Hortex Foundation, the government has implemented a plan to produce exportable mangoes and created global packaging standards to support business owners and exporters.
